- Hearty Lentil and Vegetable Stew
Ingredients:
- 200 grams of red lentils (Masoor Dal), soaked overnight or Sprouted Mung.
- 1 large Potato, peeled and diced (about 200 grams)
- 2 medium carrots, sliced (about 200 grams)
- 100 grams of green beans, chopped
- 100 grams of fresh peas
- 100 grams of fresh Cauliflower/ Broccoli, chopped
- 2 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 liter of water, you can adjust the quantity according to your preference
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
Instructions:
- Rinse the lentils thoroughly under cold water.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced potato, sliced carrots, and chopped green beans & cauliflower. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
- Add the lentils, peas, and water, peanut butter and turmeric to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer until the lentils and vegetables are tender.
- Let the stew cool before serving it to your dog.
Note: Finely chop the vegetables before adding them to the recipes. This not only reduces cooking time but also ensures that your furry friend can enjoy their homemade vegan meal even sooner!
- Quinoa and Chickpea Delight
Ingredients:
- 200 grams of quinoa, rinsed
- 200 grams of soaked chickpeas
- 1 large zucchini, grated (about 200 grams)
- 1 medium carrot, grated (about 100 grams)
- 100 grams of fresh sweet corn
- 100 grams of fresh green beans, chopped
- 100 grams of fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 liter of water
Instructions:
- Heat the coconut oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat.
- Add the grated zucchini, grated carrot, sweet corn, green beans, and broccoli to the pressure cooker. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- Add the soaked chickpeas and rinsed quinoa to the pressure cooker along with the water.
- Close the lid and cook for 12 minutes with natural release.
- After the pressure has released, open the lid and stir in the nutritional yeast.
- Let the mixture cool before serving it to your dog.
- Bean & Veggie Khichdi
Ingredients:
- 200 grams of brown rice, soaked overnight.
- 100 grams of Split mung, rinsed (can also be soaked overnight)
- 200 grams of overnight soaked garbanzo beans
- 100 grams of overnight soaked great Kidney beans/ soy beans
- 100 of fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 medium red tomato, chopped
- 2 tablespoon peanut butter
- 2 tablespoon sunflower oil
- 100 of fresh peas
- 100 of fresh green beans, chopped
- 100 of fresh broccoli or cauliflower, chopped
- 200 grams of carrots, shredded
- 50 grams of chia seeds, grounded
- Water, according to your preference
- 200 grams of fresh pumpkin, purred.
Instructions:
- Shred the carrots in a food processor or chop into small pieces.
- Process the soaked chickpeas & Kidney beans to a medium coarseness in the food processor.
- Add the Chickpeas & kidney beans, rice, peanut butter, tomato, lentils, peas, green beans, broccoli, carrot shreds and spinach to the pressure cooker in that order. Add water.
- Cook for 12 minutes with natural release. It can take up to 45 minutes for the pressure to come down and release.
- Remove the pressure cooker lid and stir in the chia seeds. Add the cooked purred Pumpkin to the hot khichdi, stirring well.
- Allow the food to cool and then portion into individual containers with tight lids. Freeze for future use.
