Cooking is our way of showing love and care to our dogs and this should not be complicated. With simple, wholesome ingredients, you can whip up a batch of treats that your pup will love, all while knowing exactly what goes into them. Let's make easy, healthy and delicious vegan dog treats that are sure to make tails wag!

  1. Peanut Butter and Banana Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed (about 115 grams)
  • 60 grams natural peanut butter (unsalted and unsweetened)
  • 120 grams oat flour (or finely ground oats)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana and peanut butter until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the oat flour and cinnamon (if using) to the banana mixture, stirring until well combined.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes or simply slice the dough into small squares.
  6. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until firm and golden brown.
  7. Allow the treats to cool completely before serving to your furry friend.

2) Beetroot and Carrot Chips

Ingredients:

  • 2 large carrots, peeled and thinly sliced (about 200 grams)
  • 2 small beetroots, peeled and thinly sliced (about 200 grams)
  • Coconut oil
  • Pinch of turmeric

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the carrot and beetroot slices with a light coating of melted coconut oil. Add a pinch of turmeric to it and mix.
  3. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping.
  4. Cook the chips in the air fryer for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking to ensure even crispness.
  5. Check the chips periodically to prevent burning, as cooking times may vary based on the thickness of the slices.
  6. Once the chips are crisp and golden brown, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool completely.
  7. Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
